Green Clinic Surgical Hospital was licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals as a general acute care hospital in October, 2003, after passing its initial inspections with no deficiencies. While the hospital is equipped to care for a broad range of medical needs, it specializes in providing surgical services and heart catherization. The growing trend in healthcare has been to focus on the specific needs of patients, while at the same time providing them with relaxed, comfortable surroundings. "More surgeries are being offered on an outpatient or short-stay basis than ever before," notes Green Clinic CEO Robert Goodwill.

The Green Clinic Surgical Hospital will meet the challenges of the healthcare industry and provide patients with access to state-of-the-art technology in a patient-centered environment. The Patient Care Unit has ten well-appointed private patient rooms, which can comfortably accommodate family members staying overnight. The entire facility includes the latest technology in nursing call systems. "When patients press the call button, they will be directed to the same nurse every time, as opposed to the call being routed to a general nursing station," says Karin Jones, RN, Director of Nursing for the Patient Care Unit.

Ben Bledsoe, principal of Bledsoe Architects, who designed the new surgical hospital, has an established reputation providing design services to the healthcare industry. Bledsoe says he was duly impressed by the team effort and attention to detail demonstrated by Green Clinic physicians and staff. "I've never met a group of physicians that have been more focused on patient care," says Bledsoe. "The new surgical hospital reflects their hard work and efforts to give patients the best possible healing environment."
